How Go Educate Supports Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
At Go Educate, we recognise that learning does not only happen in the classroom. Many students enter our courses with valuable skills and knowledge gained through previous study, workplace experience, or informal learning. That’s why we offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as a supported pathway for eligible students, helping them receive credit for what they already know.
What Is Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assesses the competency/s of an individual that may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual meets the requirements specified in the training package or VET accredited courses.
RPL may be suitable for students who have:
- Previous training or completed units in a related field
- Current or past experience working in a dental practice or healthcare setting
- On-the-job skills developed through employment or supervised practice
- Informal learning gained through work-based tasks and responsibilities
RPL does not reduce the standard of assessment—it ensures that learning, regardless of where it occurred, is fairly recognised.
Our Approach to RPL Support
We understand that the RPL process can feel complex or unfamiliar. At Go Educate, students are supported throughout the RPL journey to ensure they clearly understand what is required and how to present their evidence.
Guided and Transparent Process
Our trainers and assessors support students by:
- Explaining the RPL process and eligibility requirements
- Identifying suitable units for RPL consideration
- Providing clear guidance on acceptable types of evidence
- Reviewing submitted evidence against unit requirements
- Offering feedback where additional evidence may be required
All RPL assessments are conducted in line with regulatory standards to ensure the principles of assessment and rules of evidence are consistently applied.
Supporting Timely Progression
Where RPL is granted, students may be able to reduce duplication of learning and focus their time on developing new skills. This can support more efficient progression through the course while maintaining the quality and outcomes of the qualification.
It’s important to note that RPL outcomes vary for each student and depend on the relevance, quality, and sufficiency of the evidence provided.
Fair, Consistent, and Compliant
At Go Educate, RPL is:
- Assessed on an individual basis
- Aligned with training package requirements
- Conducted by qualified and experienced assessors
- Documented clearly and transparently
We do not guarantee RPL outcomes, but we do ensure that every application is reviewed carefully and fairly.
A Pathway That Respects Your Experience
Choosing to study with Go Educate means choosing an RTO that values your existing skills while upholding industry standards. Whether you are new to formal training or returning with prior experience, our team is here to support you through every step of the RPL process.
If you believe your previous learning or work experience may be relevant, we encourage you to speak with our team to explore whether RPL may be an appropriate option for you.
